first visit

Welcome to Optimal Body Chiropractic

We are so glad you have found us. You will be warmly welcomed and made to feel at home upon your arrival. Help is on its way!

New patients often remark how comfortable our office is. Our goal is to offer state-of-the-art chiropractic care in a relaxed setting.

You will be greeted by name and given a short tour to make you familiar with the office. We are not a large ‘turnstile’ practice; people are treated with respect on a personal and friendly basis.

If you have already completed your admitting paperwork, great! If not, feel free to complete the necessary forms when you are here. We will start your journey to wellness as soon as you are finished!

We Explain Everything First
The purpose of your consultation with the doctor is to discuss your health goals and see if chiropractic is likely to help. If promising, an examination will help identify the cause of your problem/s.

A Partnership
The consultation gives you an opportunity to learn a bit more about chiropractic. Optimal Body Chiropractic offers a partnership-approach to improved health and wellness, so it is important that you are comfortable with the personalities, procedures and policies of our practice. The consultation is a great way to find that out.

If we don’t think we can help, we’ll refer you to the proper alternative. If we agree that chiropractic is the right choice for you, the next step is a thorough examination.

Examination
Our patients often comment on how thorough our examination is. It varies based upon what we discover in your health history. Some of the following may be part of your examination:

• Physical: This is a general evaluation that may include the recording of height, weight, pulse, blood pressure and similar measurements.

• Orthopedic: These test your ability to turn, bend and move important joints of your body through their expected range of motion.

• Neurological: We test muscle strength, sensation, and other aspects pointing to the health of your central nervous system.

• Chiropractic: This includes postural evaluation, palpation, and other procedures to reveal neurological problems.

Following Your First Visit
After we study your health history and correlate our examination findings, we’ll make recommendations designed to help you achieve and maintain your health. This is usually your second visit; we do this because it reduces the length of your first visit, it gives us time to gather findings, and it helps prevent overloading you with too much information.

Report of Findings
We’ll spend about 15 minutes reviewing our findings with you and offering answers to the four questions most patients have when they consult our office:
• What’s wrong?
• Can chiropractic help?
• How long will it take?
• How much will it cost?
If you have any other questions, be sure to ask!

Working Together
Chiropractic care is a partnership approach to better health. Part of your recovery is based on what we do, and the other part on what you do. Dr. Lee often recommends spinal streches and strengthening exercises to assist in your recovery. Our health partners in the building are excellent resources to get you on the road to wellness. Stretches for Health

Regular Visits
Many people are concerned that every visit will be as long as the first two. This is not the case – the first two visits gather and report critical information in order to best set the stage for your healing journey.

A typical office visit after the initial two meetings may require just 10 to 15 minutes. With the foundation laid, we can quickly determine what your spine and nervous system needs, adjust you, and get you on your way.

Like a regular workout, each adjustment builds on the ones before. If you miss a visit, we may lose the momentum necessary to illicit the necessary changes. We realize your time is valuable. We will do everything possible to stay on time and minimize the impact on your busy life.
